Maison très agréable au milieu des noisetiers, dans un charmant petit village équipé d'une piscine accessible. En retrait de l'animation du bord de mer et idéal pour les départs de randonnées ou de VTT. Franck le propriétaire très disponible, nous a donné de super indications de visites et une belle rencontre avec Plancton diving pour faire du snorkeling.
The house is gorgeous and a real home from home. We stayed in February and although the weather was kind it was lovely to have the central heating on, Frank had set it on constant, and it was always warm and welcoming. The house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped with everything you need. Lovely comfy sofas to relax in and all of the rooms are spacious and all three bedrooms have good sized en-suite bathrooms. Frank, our host, was very kind and welcoming, despite our late arrival and very kindly returned the next day to check all was OK and to talk us through what to do in the area, his help was invaluable because there is so much to do and see in the immediate area - and his English is very good - which was a great help. Although the bar/restaurant in Masboquera was not open at this time of year there was plenty of choice in other nearby villages I would be very happy to recommend Cal Corneta to friends and hope to return myself.

Hem estat molt bé a la Casa de masboquera. L'entrada va ser molt senzilla. L'entorn és increible i amb moltes possibilitats per disfrutar de la muntanya i el mar. També hem pogut gaudir molt de la piscina del poble. L'Hospitalet de l'Infant està molt aprop i s'hi pot trobar de tot, incloent peixeteries de molta qualitat!

We had a really great week at Cal Corneta. All the communication with Jutta and later with Frank was prompt and helpful. Frank met us in the village and showed us the way to the finca and then spent ages with us showing us on a map all the best things to do for our week there. We ended up doing nearly all of them!
The finca is very well equipped and the dishwasher was a real luxury! There was always plenty of hot water and it was nice to be able to put the heating on in the evenings when it was too cool to sit out. It was lovely to come back and sit in the peaceful garden after a long days sightseeing and it was great to hear nightingales singing so close by. There is a lot to do in the area and Masboquera is a great base, the coast is only 10 mins away and the extensive network of hiking trails is well signposted. There 2 supermarkets 10 mins by car in L'Hospitalet, a cafe in Masboquera and also a very good little restaurant within walking distance of the finca.
A lovely place to stay and enjoy the countryside.
Le temps ne nous a vraiment pas accompagnés (début septembre) durant les quelques jours passés mais nous avons pu apprécier l'espace mis à disposition de notre famille (4 adultes, 1 enfant et un bébé). La maison a l'avantage d'être suffisamment isolée pour y trouver une grande tranquillité et des vues magnifiques sur la montagne. Mais elle bénéficie aussi d'une grande proximité et facilité d'accès à la côte, les plages et à tous les commerces nécessaires. Enfin, le village est certes très petit, mais il bénéfice d'une piscine géniale, terrain de foot et terrain de pétanque. Seule critique, ne pas avoir eu un accès wifi/internet correcte, la 3G ne passe pas bien à cet endroit du village.

Im Juli 2015 haben wir zu fünf Erwachsenen und einem Kleinkind eine wunderbare Woche in Masboquera verbracht. Man wird von vollkommener Ruhe und Natur empfangen. Im Haus findet man sehr gepflegte Räume, toll ausgestattete Badezimmer und eine super Veranda vor. Jedes Zimmer hat ein eignes Bad und alles war blitzblank sauber.
Wir wurden von der deutschsprachigen Vermieterin empfangen die seit Jahren in Barcelona lebt und uns tolle Tipps geben konnte.
Das kleine Dorf Masboquera ist hundertprozentig authentisch spanisch, wir waren die einzigen Touristen und wurden sehr lieb von den Bewohnern empfangen. In dem Ort gibt es eine einzige Bar/Café in dem man prima am Dorfleben teilhaben kann.
Zu empfehlen ist übrigens das etwas vor Masboquera liegende Restaurant im Reitstall Hipica Masboquera.
Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub in einem Haus mit viel Platz in der Natur.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Urlaub in diesem schönen und stilvoll eingerichteten Bauernhaus. Für uns war die Lage perfekt: etwas abseits des touristischen "Rummels" (aber der Strand ist nur 10 Automunuten entfernt), aber dafür mitten im Leben eines katalanischen Dorfes. Die Bewohner waren sehr freundlich. Wenn mal die Milch zum Frühstück alle war, hilft der Wirt der Dorfbar gern aus!
Auf der mit Wein überwachsenen Terrasse mit Ausblick hatten wir entspannte Abende.
Auch unsere beiden Kinder (4 u 6 Jahre) kamen auf ihre Kosten, die natürliche Umgebung (mit Brombeeren!) des Hauses lässt kleine Forscheraugen leuchten!
Auch das nahegelegene Schwimmbad war sauber und immer für eine Akühlung willkommen.
Die Wanderwege, die gleich hinter dem Haus beginnen, laden zu Spaziergängen u. Wanderungen ein.

Fantastic house! Beautiful inside and out. Best part about it is the quiet, rural setting and sense of space and peace you have inside the house and in the gardens. Frank the owner couldn't have been more helpful. He made some great suggestions about where to visit and was always available to help with any questions. It's also a great area to explore (lovely beaches and seaside towns). Would definitely recommend this property.

Très belle maison, bien rénové et confortable avec une salle de bains dans chaque chambre. Il y a un bon chauffage central rendant cette maison aussi confortable dans toutes les saisons. La région est aussi très belle et idéal pour faire du VTT ou la randonné. Le village de Masboquera est charmant et pas loin de la mer. Nous avons été très bien reçus par les propriétaires. THE SETTING
Masboquera is a quiet village set in the middle of the idyllic Vandellòs area, with the Costa Dorada just a short 10-minute drive away. The village itself has approximately 50 inhabitants and a bar with a leisure area that includes a football pitch, a public swimming pool with lifeguards, horse-riding facilities and several childrens’ play areas.
The first known mention of Vandellòs was in 1342 when it was referred to as Vallis Laurorumi. The Catalonian adaptation to “Vall de Llorer” then led to the current denomination that gives name to the entire geographical region, where Masboquera is situated.
THE COTTAGE
The socalled MAS CORNETA is set in off the road at the edge of the village of Masboquera. Access to the house is by a private lane lined with olive trees that traverses its 10,000 square metres of land. When you reach the house itself, it becomes clear why it is the ideal place to spend a relaxing and refreshing holiday.
Completely renovated just a few years ago and quilted by an ivy-covered façade, the house is situated within a valley with Laurel trees, Vall de Laurel, surrounded by mountains, where fig trees, almond trees, hazelnut trees, palm trees and of course, the laurel trees that give the region its name, all grow in abundance.
During renovation, the owners Teresa and Frank gave much thought to the preservation of the home’s historic features.
The staircase is still decorated with the typical, period green and white Catalonian tiles. Outbuildings were integrated into the main building in order to make the house more spacious.
A total of 6 people can sleep comfortably in solid beds and 2 more on the sofa bed in the living room:
The parents’ bedroom is located for example in the old henhouse and a part of the living room is where once lived the donkey 😉
2 more bedrooms are located on the first floor, each with their own ensuite bathroom for guest convenience and in full compliance with the regulations for a home to be classed as official “Rural Accommodation”.
The kitchen is open-plan and leads into the dining area and living room.
If arriving by car, vehicles can be parked securely within the grounds of the residence. There are also other secure spaces for storing bicycles such as the shed and a room that has been specifically adapted to this end.
WITH SUSTAINABILITY IN MIND
Fresh fruit and vegetables, direct from the land
Local farmers sell homegrown fruit and vegetables, although timetables can be irregular . If you prefer to have a wider range of fresh produce, the coastal town of Hospitalet de l’Infant is host to a traditional market every Sunday, where local farmers sell their goods.
Car-free vacation
If you’d prefer to leave your car at home, we can organize transfer to and from the airport. For getting around during your stay, there is a bus from Masboquera that takes you to the nearby beaches and main shopping areas in Hospitalet de l’Infant.
Excursions leaving from the village
The village residents also organize occasional excursions, even during the low season. These day-trips are not generally advertised in the local press etc. because they are organized privately by the people of the village and news is spread by word of mouth. As soon as we hear about one of these trips, you’ll be the first to know and we can take care of booking you a place if you are interested. Just #Wanderful , isn’t it? 😉

PLACES OF INTEREST
40km: Visit Tarragona, the capital of the province: you’ll find a wide variety of Roman monuments such as the Amphitheatre, a Roman mausoleum, the Roman forum and the “Pont del Diable” aqueduct. In 2000, the archaeological ruins of the old province of the the roman capital, Tarraco, were declared a UNESCO world heritage site.
60km: For wine connaisseurs, the region of Priorat in the northeast is home to some of the finest grapes. Located in the steep, breathtaking hills of Serra de Montsant, this is the oldest wine-producing region in Catalonia and its wines, intense and full-bodied, are among the most famous in Spain.
70km: Parque Natural del Delta de Ebro is located at the mouth of the river Ebro and extending 22 km into the sea. This natural park is the third largest delta of the Mediterranean. The wetland of the Ebro is of international importance given the wealth of plant and animal species that inhabit it. Apart from the ecological richness of the landscape, the delta is also home to another unique feature: have you ever seen rice fields in Europe? Well, you’ll find them just 70 km away from CAL CORNETA, just an hour up the N-340 (no tolls!).

You will be able to use the public pool of Masboquera for free throughout your summer holidays (june to mid september) and enter as often as you want. We’ll provide you with a Family Pass.
Nudist beach
Platja del Torn is situated south of Hospitalet de l’Infant and is a popular spot for nudists.
Bon Caponet beach in closeby Ametlla del Mar allows to bring dogs!

With a maximum height of 1,100 metres this is an ideal location for excursions and climbing.
Festa Major (local festival) at the end of summer
If you are contemplating a visit towards the end of the summer, make sure you make it in time to enjoy the Fiesta Mayor. The festival lasts for a few days, during which time you can soak up the buzz and the atmosphere, enjoy the local food and music and take part in the traditional cultural activities that are organised throughout the festivities.
HOW TO GET THERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
From Barcelona by RENFE EXPRES direction Tortosa, exit Hospitalet de L’Infant which takes about 1:40h. train schedule RENFE
From Hospitalet de l’Infant, you can take a public bus which connects the beaches and shopping areas of the town and goes uphill towards Masboquera. Please bear in mind that buses during the high season are hourly. In the low season, the wait can be substantially more.
